WedgesWedge shoes are the comfortable and more practical version of platforms. While they can get pretty high, look around for a pair with a modest and reasonable wedge. Boots or shoes about an inch high should be plenty (if you must go higher, limit yourself at two inches). It’ll give you a slight height boost and will look great. Although wedges are more supportive than heels, keep in mind that there will still be considerable strain on your arches, so avoid these if you know you’ll be on your feet all day. Ballet Flats with Sole If you’re going to be carrying heavy things and running around all day, but still want to look good, then you’ll definitely want to shop around for a pair of ballet flats with running shoe soles. Although these look a little sportier and a little less sexy, they definitely serve their purpose well. You still have the hint of the ballet flat with the open top while the sporty soles give your feet more support and comfort. Find a black pair to go with anything, which is probably the best colour for this style of shoe. Don’t be tempted to purchase anything too colourful or loud or else it will look out of place with the running shoe soles. Hiking Boots Hiking boots are amazing ― enough said. The only consideration is that if you need to look professional, they may not fit the part. If you must don a pair, go for darker colours and a sleeker look. These will save your feet from any potential and unnecessary wear and tear that other shoes will cause (except maybe running shoes). Keep a pair in the car just in case. Running Shoes Speaking of running shoes, these are probably the last resort. Although they’re not really professional looking, they can definitely save your feet if you’re in a pinch. Keep a pair at your desk in case you need to run out for something or stash them in your car for work emergencies. _____________________________ pamper your feet Your feet take most of the abuse on your body since they are constantly in use. So if you are on your feet all day, get someone to give them a good rub (either a friend or a professional) and give them some rest. Pampering your feet once in awhile will ease the tension from being on your feet all day. |
