Along with wearing comfortable summer work clothes when you have to move around a lot, shoes are just as essential when it comes to being mobile. Some women can probably handle running all over the place in six-inch stilettos, but trust me, it’s not comfortable. That’s why it’s important to consider alternative footwear, even if you have to look stylish. There are a few options you can consider that won’t cost your feet a week’s worth of pain and discomfort. First, evaluate how much on-foot travelling you will have to do in a day’s worth of work and, just as importantly, where you’ll be doing this trekking. If it’s in-city travel, then some of the first options will work well, but if you’re going to be embarking on some rougher terrain, definitely consider some options towards the end of the list. Kitten Heels Kitten heels are the practical and cuter alternative to high heels. Not only do they add a little bit of height, you can also sprint in them without falling on your face. Well, most of the time! The great thing is that these shoes come in all kinds of colours, styles, textures and patterns. If you’re working, opt for a simple and classic black type. Try peep toes in the summer for a sexy yet still classy look. Don’t shy away from brighter colours as well. If your outfit is more neutral (think greys, blacks and whites), then by all means, try on the red pair instead! You’ll stand out in a crowd and still be completely comfortable on your feet. Ballet Flats Ballet flats are a more distant relative of the kitten heel mainly because they don’t have heels at all. They resemble (surprise, surprise) the classic ballet flats. Because of this, they look a little bit more casual than kitten heels or high heels, but the right pair can still look professional. |
